Freelance Writers Project

Shelly Books and More is a growing company with several facets to it, one being our, Freelance Writers Project. This is our project where we look to purchase the rights to freelance writers, whether they are published, or unpublished authors, making our project a place where all authors are welcome to submit for our reading in hopes that we will purchase the rights to publish their works in one of our up-and-coming books or our up-and-coming online subscriptions. The online subscription will be adult content only, Rated R.

Nothing is complicated about our Freelance Writers Project. If you want to make some extra cash; you enjoy writing, no matter the genre, contemporary fiction, essays, poetry style, prose, if you can imagine it, we are interested in reading it.

The payout for Short Stories, prose, and poetry is a flat rate of $100.

Project Submission Guidelines

• There is a $3.00 Submission Fee for all submitted works.

• Project submissions should be no more than 5,000 words. If it is a bit over, we will still consider it, but please be sure to stay within the guidelines of our word count to ensure its consideration.

• We accept submissions submitted simultaneously to various publishers, however, should your work be accepted by another publisher, please contact us through email informing us that you would like to withdraw your work. If you would like to withdraw your submission for any other reason, again, please contact us by email, and we will withdraw your submission. Please subject your email accordingly.

• Cover Letter required. Please include the title of your work, genre, and the word count of your submission along with a brief publishing history, and email. An email will be sent confirming your submission. Please take notice of your spam folder. We will confirm within two to four weeks of receiving your submission. If you have not heard from us within 60 days, please send your query to shellybooksandmore@yahoo.com. You may also choose to include a contact number to ensure that we can contact you should we choose to purchase the rights to your work.

• Please include the title of your writing on the manuscript as well.

• No submissions excepted online at this time. Submissions will only be accepted through postal mail on white copy paper. Manuscripts submitted should be typed neatly using a 12 font, double-spaced on one side of the paper only.

• No limit to the number of submissions, or timeframe. However, please include each submission separately.

• Submissions are accepted worldwide, but, must be in the English language.

• No partial writings will be accepted. We will not request the complete writing for our reading.

• Complete work should be fully edited.

• Please do not resubmit multiple submissions of the same work.

• No reprints of previously published work in the English language are to be submitted. This includes, but not limited to books, apps, websites, newspapers, magazines, any social media platforms, and or any publicly accessible online community. We only accept unpublished original work from its original author in the English language.

• Please note, although Shelly Books and More purchases the rights to the author’s work, the author still retains the credit for their work. We in no shape or form will ever take credit for the author’s work. It is our pleasure to give all credit where credit is due.

• We accept submissions all year round.

• It is advised that you do not send your only copy.

• Should we decide to purchase your work, you will be emailed a contract. Upon receiving your signed contract, a payout will be issued within two weeks. Payouts can be completed either through a check, PayPal, or Cash App.
